LABORATORY WORKS AT BELGRADE UNIVERSITY – DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED CHEMISTRY (during PhD investigated period) and further investigation and cooperation with Geochemical team from Belgrade University

  • Organic geochemistry

Geochemical analysing of biomartkers in sediment, such as, n-alkanes, isoprenoids, polycyclic alkanes type of sterane and triterpanes, β-carotane, monoaromatic and diaromatic carotenoids and others, were and will be analyzed in detail, by Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) technique in the alkane fractions.

Bulk organic geochemical parameters determined on the basis of the results of elementary analysis, while for the determination of the content from bitumen and hydrocarbons have been applied by the Soxhlet extraction (Soxhlet) and column chromatography.

  • Inorganic geochemistry

The determination of content of macro-, trace- and rare earth elements in sediment determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) and by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).

  • Mineralogical part of sediment
  • The qualitative composition of the mineral part of the sediment are determined by X-ray diffractometer analysis (eng. X-Ray Diffraction, XRD).
